For this Santa Cruz Session, Brock Davis, Michael Schoolcraft and Andy Barr, joined by his wife and musical partner Amy Merrill, take turns performing songs they’ve written and sharing the stories behind them. With December just getting underway, don’t be surprised if a seasonal song or two finds its way into the evening.
BROCK DAVIS
Brock Davis is a miner for emotional truth. As a songwriter, he descends deep below the surface to return with songs of love, loss and redemption that are honest, real and often heartbreakingly beautiful.

MICHAEL SCHOOLCRAFT
Michael is best known as the taller half of the acoustic duo Schoolcraft and Murray, known for their irresistible grooves and word play. As a solo artist, he combines all of that with his own unique, soulful style. Songs about patience, empathy, aging, animals and… Volvos.
ANDY BARR with AMY MERRILL
Andy Barr writes songs with one foot on Earth and the other somewhere in the cosmos. His music uses imagined futures, memory and a touch of science fiction to explore deeply human questions of love, belonging, uncertainty and what it means to find a home.
With his wife Amy Merrill, Barr creates “space-folk” as Formerly Alien. He also tours as a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist with the legendary band America.
