BAYMELE (Yiddish for little tree) is a klezmer trio (Dmirti Gaskin – accordion; Mathew Stein – violin; Misha Khalikulov – cello) based in the Bay Area. Active since 2018, their music combines Eastern European Jewish music with traditional music from Poland, Romania, Ukraine, and Hungary. Baymele's debut album, "Sapling" (Yiddish for "Seedling"), was just released. Sapling expresses the idea of new growth from ancient roots and is a celebration of diasporic Jewish folk music. In this concert Baymele also has two guest performers:

ZOË AQUA is a violinist, composer, and ethnomusicologist whose work bridges klezmer and Transylvanian folk traditions. She has performed around the US and has toured in Germany, Austria, France, Hungary, Romania, and Turkey.

REBECCA MAC is a Boston-based klezmer violinist exploring klezmer and Eastern European folk traditions. Rebecca performs in many ensembles and has appeared at major klezmer festivals such as KlezKanada and Yiddish New York. She holds a degree in violin performance from Berklee College of Music.
