Samara Jade with Eric James

Samara Jade with Eric James

Wed 4/3, 7:30p @Ugly Mug Soquel, $12-15

Samara Jade is a modern folk troubadour and musical seamstress who stitches together a unique tapestry of sounds from diverse musical strands colored by folk, jazz, soul and blues.  Her intricately groove-based guitar playing and acrobatically emotive voice weave together into songs that cut through truth, open hearts, stimulate minds, and perhaps best fall into the nutshell of a fan-coined genre, "Philosopholk."

Eric James DeAratanha is a local singer songwriter based in the Santa Cruz Mountains. His music is heavily inspired by the healing spirit of the natural world; this reflects through the music’s lyric and imagery. These songs are catchy, hopeful and heartfelt, always inviting you to sing along with one another. Along with writing songs, Eric is also a music producer and sound engineer.
